General Motors (NYSE:GM) Q2 Adjusted Earnings, Sales Increase

General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) reported Q2 adjusted diluted earnings  of $1.91 per share, up from $1.14 a year earlier. Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $1.83 normalized. Revenue for the quarter that ended June 30 was $44.75 billion, up from $35.76 billion a year earlier. Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $42.36 billion. The company said it now expects full-year 2023 adjusted diluted earnings of $7.15 to $8.15, versus its prior forecast of $6.35 to $7.35. Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expect $7.06 normalized. The company projected revenue of more than $225 billion in 2025, equivalent to a compound annual growth rate of about 12%.

Coca-Cola (NYSE:KO) expect Q2 earnings of 72 cents , revenue of $11.7 billion

For the second quarter, analysts are expecting Coca-Cola (NYSE:KO) to report earnings of 72 cents a share from revenue of $11.7 billion, according to FactSet. That would be a jump from earnings of 70 cents a share and revenue of $11.3 billion in the second quarter of 2022. “Since KO reported its strong 1Q, we’ve seen several positive read throughs indicating momentum continued into 2Q,” Evercore ISI analyst Robert Ottenstein wrote in a research note last week. “First, PEP delivered a robust 2Q, with pricing-led upside.” He rates Coca-Cola stock at Outperform with a target of $70 for the price. Coca-Cola’s average selling prices increased 11% during its first quarter. The question is whether consumers have remained willing and able to pay up for Coke and the other beverages the company sells.

Waste Management (NYSE:WM) Q2 EPS $1.51 Misses $1.54 Estimate, Sales $5.12B Miss $5.23B Estimate

Waste Management (NYSE:WM) reported quarterly earnings of $1.51 per share which missed the analyst consensus estimate of $1.54 by 1.95 percent. This is a 4.86 percent increase over earnings of $1.44 per share from the same period last year. The company reported quarterly sales of $5.12 billion which missed the analyst consensus estimate of $5.23 billion by 2.12 percent. This is a 1.83 percent increase over sales of $5.03 billion the same period last year.
